Fairhart singled out by Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have named Eatonville High School's George Fairhart and Ferndale High School's Jaime Plenkovich as the NFL High School Coaches of the Week for the state of Washington for week seven of the National Football League season. Fairhart earned the award, presented by Washington Army National Guard, after his team improved its record to 7-0 by defeating Tenino 35-0 Oct. 17. The Cruisers since then have remained undefeated. Plenkovich was picked after Ferndale edged Lynden 37-34. Now in its 19th season, the NFL High School Coach of the Week program is a partnership between the Washington State Football Coaches Association and the Seahawks. The NFL High School Coach of the Week award winners in Washington are selected by members of the coaches association. The weekly recipients receive a $500 cash donation for their football program from the Seahawks, a $225 Sports Authority gift card, a Seahawks jacket, and a personalized football. Following the 2014 NFL season, one coach will receive the Jim Ennis Award for High School Coach of the Year and a $2,000 cash grant.
