By Wednesday evening, Eatonville School District may know who its next superintendent will be. The School Board plans to make its choice after an executive session (closed to the public) meeting at 6 p.m. at the district office. Board members will emerge from the meeting to publicly announce Krestin Bahr, Shannon Webster or Chris Fritsch as the successor to Rich Stewart, who is retiring in June at the end of the school year. It's expected the new superintendent will start working July 1. Board president Bob Homan said the board members planned to spend last Saturday and Sunday reading written comments about Bahr, Webster and Fritsch from district employees and community members. Each finalist - Fritsch on Monday, Webster Tuesday and Bahr Thursday - spent a day in the district last week visiting each school and meeting with staff members. The candidates also met with the district's transportation and maintenance workers before finishing their day with a community forum at Eatonville High School. Comment forms were given to the employees and the people who attended the forums. Bahr is the Tacoma School District's director of secondary education for middle schools. Fritsch is assistant superintendent of Longview School District. Webster is assistant superintendent of Hoquiam School District. Each of them were teachers and principals earlier in their careers.
