Firefighters host Santa event

Santa Claus will pose for photos and give away prizes during an appearance this Saturday sponsored by the Eatonville Firefighters Association. Starting at 6 p.m. at the Eatonville Fire and Rescue station at 201 Center St. W., the public can have pictures taken for a suggested tax-deductible donation of $5. The association will provide a copy of photos and a small stocking gift for children. The donation will include automatic entry in a raffle for three Walmart gift cards GÇô one for $50 and two for $25 apiece, a $25 gift certificate from Double T's Meats, and a gift certificate for an oil change from Motorworx. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each. Snacks will be provided by Cottage Bakery, and coffee and hot chocolate will be available while families wait for their pictures. Cox Christmas Trees is donating a tree for the pictures. Businesses that are "contributing towards this event are our local heroesGÇ¥ for promoting town business and community involvement, said Tony Vu, a fire department lieutenant. All proceeds support the Eatonville Firefighters Association, a non-profit organization. The group's mission is "the betterment of our communities and protecting our firefighters' safety,GÇ¥ Vu said.
