Reassignments within the Bethel School District are resulting in new principals at two of its high schools, among other changes in school and district leadership.
Lynn Gill is taking over as principal at Graham-Kapowsin. Gill previously was principal at Frontier Junior High School.
At Spanaway Lake High School, Julie Baublits is the new principal. She's replacing Michelle Ledbetter, who is leaving that post to be the new director of Pierce County Skills Center.
Other new principal appointments include Jeff Gutfield at Bethel junior High School, Chad Honig at Thompson Elementary School, and Connie Martinson at Clover Creek Elementary School.
Honig is moving up from assistant principal at Thompson. Martinson was an assistant principal at Naches Trail.
In other changes, Michelle Scott-Beach has been named assistant principal at Spanaway Lake High School, and Kathy Hugh was chosen as assistant director of transportation for the district. Hugh joins Bethel from the Eatonville School District, where she headed transportation.
The skills center, which Ledbetter now heads, is a state-funded, vocational-oriented consortium of 10 school districts, including Eatonville and Bethel. It's administered by the Bethel district, in which the center is located.
