This Saturday and Sunday are free-admission days at Mount Rainier National Park.-áVisitor fees will be waived there and at all national park areas throughout the weekend as the start of National Park Week, which will be observed April 20-24.-á-á Visitors to Mount Rainier will find winter conditions haven't ended completely. Officials said about five feet of snow is still on the ground at the Paradise recreation area, including approximately two feet of fresh snow that fell in recent days to help extend snowshoeing and cross country skiing seasons. Elsewhere, lower-elevation trails are snow-free. Good weather is being forecast for the weekend. The Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise will be open, along with the National Park Inn at Longmire. Beginning April 20, the gate on the road between Longmire and Paradise will remain open 24 hours a day.-á Spring is a great time to enjoy the park.-á Lower elevation trails are snow free, but snowshoeing and cross country skiing can still be enjoyed in the Paradise area.-á
