George Southard/June 7, 1946 to October 18, 2015

On Oct. 18th, Heaven was looking for a good truck driver and called George up. George was born in Morton, Wash., and lived his entire life in the Eatonville area. In 1964 he enlisted in the Army National Guard and served 6 honorable years. A truck driver by trade, he drove log truck, mixer truck, and for the last 20 years of his career drove dump truck for Randles Sand & Gravel. In the 1970s he was a volunteer firefighter and reserve police officer for the Town of Eatonville. George was an amateur radio operator with the call sign of N7JIA. George enjoyed working on cars and rarely kept a vehicle for more than a couple of months. Shortly after his retirement, he bought a newer car and focused on spending his time with his grandchildre,n whom he loved beyond measure. They will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his mother Edith, brother Jerry, and best friend and wife of 42 years, Gloria. He is survived by his son Chuck (Trish) of Graham, and grandchildren Kylie and Cody. A graveside service will be held on Nov. 8th at 1 p.m. at Mineral Cemetery for all who would like to attend and share memories of George.
