Graham-Kapowsin's path to a potential state football championship continues to run through eastern Washington. For the second week in a row, a team from there is the Eagles' opponent in the 4A high school football tournament. G-K will meet Chiawanah, the defending state champion, this Saturday in the Redhawks' hometown of Pasco in a seminfinals matchup that will determine one of the contestants in next week's finals. Graham-Kapowsin kept its own opportunity alive with a systematic 27-7 dismantling of Wenatchee last Friday in the quarterfinals on the Eagles' own Art Crate Field. Chiawanah made it through the quarterfinals by walloping Gonzaga Prep 38-3 last Saturday in Pasco. The other semifinal combatants are undefeated Bothell and Newport, a pair of teams from King County's east side. (Read more in the Nov. 26 print edition of The Dispatch)
