Meeting Nov. 17 on Bethel school bond

Built in 1982, Cedarcrest Middle School in the Bethel School District has never had a major renovation. Remodeling of Cedarcrest could be among the projects that are paid for through a bond that the Bethel School is considering putting before voters. The board will discuss the possible bond proposals during a public meeting Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the district's Educational Service Center, located in Spanaway at 516 176th St. E. Other school expansions, improvements and new projects that the bond would cover include a new wing for Graham-Kapowsin High School, a new elementary school next to Cedarcrest, and a swimming pool at Bethel High School. Bethel High also is ticketed for modernization. The school was built in 1951 and last was renovated in 1990.
