Andrew Neiditz, the city manager for Lakewood since 2005, is expected to become the head of Pierce County's new 9-1-1 emergency communications system. A panel of police and fire managers voted Friday to recommend Neiditz as the first executive director of South Sound 911. If confirmed next Wednesday by the new agency's Policy Board, Neiditz will be the first executive director of the voter-approved organization. Neiditz, whose experience includes time as deputy county executive, was one of three finalists for executive director. The others were Jack Harper II, city manager of Hillsboro, Texas, and David Moseley, director of the ferries division of the state Department of Transportation.
