One person has been arrested and a second is facing possible charges in connection with a series of thefts from automobiles in Eatonville. A 26-year-old man who lives in the town was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail last week after he confessed to some of the vehicle prowls, according to Eatonville Police chief Jason McGuire. The second suspect is a 24-year-old woman "with no real address," McGuire said. Charges against her were pending last week. Six thefts from vehicles in a three-week period had been under investigation by police, who believed all of the crimes were by the same person or persons. All of the crimes occurred in residential areas during the night. Items that were stolen included car stereos, laptop computers and GPS units. Some of the property was recovered "and we are in the process of getting things back to their owners," McGuire said last Thursday. "Unfortunately, many of the items had already been traded, but we will continue to try and track these down." The male suspect was arrested after police officer Bruce Case questioned him. That led to him confessing "to some of the vehicle prowls and leading us to some of the stolen items," McGuire said. Case contacted the man after his name came up during the investigation and after getting descriptions from victims.
