Potential for falling rock closes trail

The Narada Falls Trail at Mount Rainier National Park will be closed temporarily on weekdays beginning June 10 in order to protect hikers from rocks that could fall from work on Stevens Canyon Road. The road project includes rebuilding the roadway and other improvements, and is scheduled to be finished in September. The phase of the project was done last year, when trail closures below the road also were ordered by park official for hikders' safety.
