Rumor has it

By Tillie Vuksich Dear Tillie, I found out some disturbing news about my college professor and now I don't know if I can continue in the class. Should I just drop the class and take it somewhere else? Heard it Through the Grapevine -á Dear Heard it Through the Grapevine, College is a choice, and if you are uncomfortable in this class because of what you've learned of your professor, then by all means drop it and move on to the next class. You're an adult now and it's your money and time. Before you do that, take a moment to ask yourself this: Is it true, and does it affect me? Sometimes we hear things, rumors, and of course they are never about the good in someone. They're always juicy and completely dubious. So do some fact-checking before believing what you hear, because most times there's little truth in it. Don't forget that teachers are people, too. They may know a lot about a subject and are experts in their field, but at the end of the day they are just regular people with faults and flaws like everyone else. Heck, even the president of the United States of America is a human being, a man, regular people like you and me GÇô yes, with a bigger job than most, but still not perfect or divine. So unless it puts you in harm's way or causes you a lot of stress, my advice is to keep your nose in your book and get your class done and out of the way. -á Tillie Vuksich is an Eatonville resident who likes helping where she can.
