Runs and a walk at Northwest Trek

Two runs of varying distance and a walk for slower-paced participants are scheduled for Northwest Trek's annual Run Wild event this Saturday at the wildlife park near Eatonville.
The courses for the 5k (certified by USA Track and Field) and 8k runs and a 5k walk will follow paved trails through the heavily wooded park. The event will start at 8:30 a.m.
Runners will be chip-timed. Their per-entrant fee of $35.47 for those who register by noon Oct. 4 and $40 for day-of signups will include park admission, an event t-shirt, and entry in a raffle for two round-trip Alaska Airlines tickets valued at $5,000. Proceeds will help support Northwest Trek, where northwest native animals live in a free-roam environment.
Prizes will include tickets to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, an opportunity to feed bears, and two $100 certificates from South Hill Veterinary for veterinary services, grooming and behind-the-scenes passes to Northwest Trek.
Registration and additional information is available at www.nwtrek.org.
