Schools in the Bethel School District closed for the day Friday, and classes in the Eatonville School District were scheduled to start two hours late as a result of snowfall. The snow that fell overnight, combined with frigid conditions, made roads risky. Some weather forecasts were calling for more snow later Friday. Other public and private schools throughout Pierce County also were either closed or on shortened schedules Friday because of snowy conditions. As of Friday morning, no additional snow was being predicted for the start of next week.
