Traffic signals at four intersections on State Route 161 will be turned off on separate days next week for maintenance and upgrades, according to the state Department of Transportation. State Patrol troopers will direct traffic through the intersections while the signals are dark. The work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., which are morning and afternoon hours when traffic is expected to be lightest, DOT officials said. The schedule includes: " Feb. 24, SR-161 and Kapowsin Highway (304th Street East), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. " Feb. 25 SR-161 and 224th Street East, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. " Feb. 26, SR-161 and Eustis-Hunt Road East, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. " Feb. 27, SR-161 and 204th Street East, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect traffic delays at the locations, DOT said. They should also treat the intersections as all-way stops if no one is directing traffic when the signals are off.
