Low water levels in Alder Lake are putting a damper on some recreation there. Officials at Tacoma Power, which operates parks at the lake, said in July that all facilities were open but could be disappointing for visitors: " At the Alder Lake-áPark boat launch, launching larger watercraft could become difficult if the water level drops further. And the Rocky Point boat launch was closed. " The moorage dock at the park was closed. " The Sunny Beach Point and Stacel Point swim areas were dry. " Due to the-ástatewide burn ban declared by Governor Jay Inslee, no wood or charcoal fires are allowed within the campgrounds (gas and propane cook stoves are allowed) Tacoma Power is providing updated information on the parks at MyTPU.org/Alder.
