Jayla Thirtyacre of Eatonville placed 14th in the finals of the 200 individual medley in the 2A division of the state high school girls swimming and diving championships last weekend in Federal Way. Thirtyacre, a senior, was clocked in 2:27.83, setting a new school record. Taylor McCoy of Pullman was the winner in 2:07.82. Thirtyacre also competed in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 19th in the preliminaries of the only other individual event with an Eatonville qualifier. And she was part of Eatonville's 400 freestyle relay (17th) and 200 medley relay teams in the prelims. The Cruisers were 17th in the 400 and 24th in the 200.
