Union ends Eagles' playoffs bid

The Union Titans led almost from start to finish in a 39-22 victory over Graham-Kapowsin in the 4A district high school football playoffs Friday.
The setback ended Graham-Kapowsin's season, which included a second-place finish in the South Puget Sound League's South division. The Eagles finished with an 8-2 record.
They entered the first round of the playoffs with a six-game winning streak and gave early signs of continuing it by scoring the game's first points on a safety in the opening quarter. But Union responded with a touchdown and added another one in the second period for a 14-2 lead and never trailed again. Trent Cowan led the Titans with three pass interceptions on defense and a touchdown.
The Titans, now 7-3, will move on to the state tournament. Their next opponent is Gonzaga Prep.
G-K got two touchdowns on runs by Teague James and another TD on Dylan Campbell's run.
