The Mount Rainier Visitors Association's fifth annual fall Road to Paradise Wine and Brew Festival will be held Nov. 15 in Ashford. From 2 to 8 p.m. in the Lions Grand Tasting Room, the festival will showcases artisanal wines and microbrews from Washington producers. Wineries include Toledo's Bateaux Cellars, Hoodsport Winery from Hoodsport, Olympia's NW Mountain Winery and Madsen Family Cellars, Convergence Zone Cellars and Piccola Cellars from Woodinville, Silverlake's Mt Saint Helens Cellars, HarMony Wines of Castle Rock, Tenino's Scatter Creek Winery, Stottle Winery of Lacey and Redmond Ridge Winery from Redmond. Cideries and breweries to be featured include Finnriver Farm and Cidery from Chimacum, Narrows Brewing from Tacoma, and Gig Harbor's 7 Seas Brewing. Music will also be part of the event. Local bands include the Collaborative Works Jazz Trio, Shaggy Sweet and The Side Project, whose rendition of "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" has been featured nationally and internationally on the hit television shows "Dancing with the Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance." Papa's Wood Fire Pizza will be on hand to serve wood-fired pizza. The vendor uses handcrafted sauces and flour imported from Italy. Tickets for the festival can be purchased online at www.road-to-paradise.com. Discounted tickets are available for advance purchase through Nov. 13 for $25. Admission includes a souvenir wine glass, 10 tasting tickets and live entertainment. All tastes are one ticket, and additional tasting tickets can be purchased for $1 each. After Nov. 13, tickets will cost $30 and can be purchased either online or onsite. For those looking to extend their visit to the Ashford area longer than the festival, hospitality awaits at area hotels, bed and breakfasts, cabins and vacation rentals, said a spokeswoman for the visitors association. Visitors will receive one complimentary event ticket for lodging booked Nov. 14-15 in Ashford, Elbe, Longmire or Mineral. More about that is at www.mt-rainier.com. And additional information about the festival is available at www.road-to-paradise.com.
