David Friscia, who is active with the Graham-Kapowsin Community Council, was among 19 volunteers who recently helped clear 740 feet of an existing shoreline trail at Lake Kapowsin. The work party, which was organized by the state Departmet of Natural Resources (DNR), also lent a hand removing trash. State Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel also were in on the overall project, said Birdie Davenport, DNR's aquatics reserve manager. Powered brushcutters like the one Friscia used were "the standout tool for the day," Davenport said.
