A liquor store in Eatonville was damaged by fire Sunday night.
There were no reported injuries from the fire at Eatonville Liquor, located on Mashell Avenue, and the extent of the damage wasn’t immediately reported. A window was broken and boarded up, and shards of glass remained on the sidewalk Monday morning.
According to South Pierce Fire and Rescue, a volunteer firefighter, Lucas Mayne, was in town celebrating his marriage proposal to his fiance when he discovered the fire. He went to the town’s nearby fire station and returned with a fire truck to begin fighting the blaze, minimizing the damage, officials said.
Other details, including a possible cause of the fire, hadn’t been announced by Monday morning.
