Seahawks salute Graham-Kapowsin's Kurle

Eric Kurle, who coaches Graham-Kapowsin High School’s football team, has been named by the Seattle Seahawks organization as one of its High School Coach of the Week selections in the 2017 season.
The award recognized the Eagles’ success in the first five weeks of the campaign, including a 5-0 record and outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 230-65.
Kurle credited his coaching staff and players for the award, which includes a $500 grant from the Seahawks to support G-K’s football program. Kurle also will attend a Seahawks home game to formally accept the award, which he now has received three times during his tenure with G-K.
The Eagles reached the quarterfinals of the 4A state tournament this season before losing to Woodinville's Falcons, who went on to play in the championship game Dec. 2 at the Tacoma Dome. They lost to Richland 28-21.
