Look at all the holiday cheer

There was plenty to see and do for getting into the holiday spirit last Saturday in Eatonville as the townsfolk and area residents turned out for the annual Christmas Parade and accompanying festivities.

The Visitor Center was abuzz with good cheer. Inside, Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted children and their families and posed for pictures. The center was also the place to be for snacking on hot cocoa and cookies, plus more photo-taking with real, live reindeer, and a traditional tree-lighting ceremony.

All of that led to the evening's main spectacle – the parade. The colorfully decorated units that made their way down Mashell Avenue past spectators watching from sidewalks included musicians, fire trucks, members of the Eatonville High School equestrian team on their horses, and marchers or trucks representing businesses and utilities such as Mountain Community Co-op and Ohop Mutual. All in all, it was a cheery way to launch the holiday season.

The events were organized by the Eatonville Chamber of Commerce and community volunteers.
