New year bringing new Town Council member

At their meeting Monday, Eatonville Town Council members will consider appointing one of two applicants to fill a council vacancy.
William Dunn and Brad McBeain are the applicants to replace Abby Gribi, who resigned from the council last October to become town administrator.
The backgrounds that Dunn and McBeain listed in their applications for the council include:
• Dunn is employed by Muckleshoot Indian Tribe as an agent for a regulatory agency that monitors compliance with tribal, local, state and federal laws. He’s a former reserve police officer for the City of Fife, has volunteered with Pierce County Parks and Recreation, and is a member of the board of directors for Eatonville Youth Sports Association. He and his wife have a licensed foster care home.
• McBeain is employed by Weatherproofing Technologies Inc. He’s been involved with veterans, church and other non-profit organizations in budgeting, marketing and hiring,
The town accepted council applications until Dec. 16. Applicants had to be registered voters and residents of the town for at least one year.
McBeain also applied last February for an appointment to replace former councilman Andy Powell, who resigned at the end of 2015. That appointment went to Jennie Hannah.

Monday's meeting at Eatonville Community Center is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
