Competitors from the Bethel School School District made marks in the recent high school state bowling tournaments.
Bethel wound up as the fourth-place team in the state 3A tourney after winning the Pierce County championship during the 2016-17 regular-season. Evergreen won the state title with a total plnfall of 7,591 over the two days. Bethel tallied 6,789 pins.
Spanaway Lake finished eighth. The Sentinels were led by a top-10 finish by Carolina Snowden in the individual competition. She was seventh.
In the 4A tournament, Graham-Kapowsin's Marilyn Perez finished 24th.
