Fall Fest: Fun, awareness and knowledge

The fun and games of Fall Fest this Saturday will be accompanied by the annual Eatonville event’s underlying message of awareness and acceptance.
Organizers of Fall Fest started it as a way to help the general public appreciate and understand people of all abilities. Its scheduling typically coincides with Disability History Awareness Month in Washington and nationally, an occasion that encourges the public to celebrate people with disabilities.
Fall Fest, which also focuses on helping the public learn about community resources, is scheduled for Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eatonville Middle School. Door prizes, entertainment and contests are planned. In addition, donations of food, eye glasses, used medical equipment and wheelchairs, and clean, unused medical supplies will be accepted for the local food bank and community service groups conducting charitable projects.
Organizers have been soliciting participants for the following activities:
