Noel leads Eatonville to second in SPSL cross country

Led by Sawyer Noel’s sixth-place finish, Eatonville placed second in the 2A South Puget Sound League boys cross country championships Oct. 21 in Lakewood.
Noel, a junior, finished the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes 36 seconds, about one minute off the pace of winner Zach Koivisto of Steilacoom. Kovisto was one of three top-five finishers for Steilacoom, which won the team title.
In the girls’ meet, Eatonville was fifth. Isabelle Snyder, a senior, led the Cruiser with a fifth-place finish in 20:51.6.
The 2A meets were held at the same location (Fort Steilacoom Park) and on the same date as the Pierce County League meets, which ended with Bethel’s boys in fifth place and Bethel’s girls in fourth place. The top finisher for the Braves was Cameron McCann, a freshman who was fifth in the boys competition.
