TIME TO UPDATE THE HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS FIELDS
Dear editor,
Is there something that you believe needs a positive change in your community? As a community, we should ask ourselves how we want to be represented and whether or not we are keeping up with the modernization of other communities.
From my perspective as a student, many people will immediately fill the stands on Friday nights as soon as the gates open for football games. This repeatedly leaves approximately over 300 people standing in the cold, many people with friends and family members without a cover for rain.
Even the stands are not exactly a quality place to sit, as they are overcrowded and uncomfortable. Over time, the cost of the field’s repairs will only become more expensive.
If a bond were passed, town members would have only a minimal increase in property taxes in order to have another stand, and possibly make improvements with the current stand. Improving the quality of the home field would allow for a more enjoyable and inviting experience for the community.
Sincerely,
Garett Guenther, 12th grade at Eatonville High School.
