Homecoming was celebrated in a big way as Eatonville racked up another win. Eatonville dominated the game early with a 20-0 lead, but as the game progressed River Ridge closed in until the score was tied. With under a minute to go and a score of 20-20, foreign exhange student Diego Luna kicked a field goal to give the Cruisers the win over the Hawks with a final score of 23-20.
Eatonville now has a win-loss record of 5-1. The Cruisers only loss came to Archbishop Murphy in their first week of play. Otherwise, they’ve decisively outscored their opponents throughout the season for the wins. This win for the Cruisers is a major step forward in their pursuit of a 2A SPSL title.
Earlier in the afternoon the traditional homecoming parade took place as EHS students and teachers marched down Washington Avenue and then back up Mashell Avenue to the High School. School spirit was on display as the band played and the football team wore their jerseys.
The Homecoming celebration continued and during the game the Court was crowned at half-time.
The Eatonville varsity football team has a home conference game against undefeated Steilacoom High School (6-0) on Friday, October 12 at 7p.m. This contest will determine the first and second place finishers in the 2A South Puget Sound League.
