A celebration of life will be held April 29, 2019 from 3:00 until 7:00 pm at Clarion Inn, Lincoln Room, 6802 Tacoma Mall Blvd., Tacoma, WA 98409. The family will scatter Christy’s remains on the 30th of April.

Christy Lee Leonard, 52, of West Lafayette, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at IU Health Arnett Hospital from pancreatic cancer surrounded by family and friends. She was born November 15, 1966, in Tacoma, WA, to Jeanette Moores of Eatonville, WA and the late John Savlick.

Christy graduated from Eatonville High School in Eatonville, WA and NWTC in Green Bay as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Before falling ill, Christy was working toward her Registered Nursing degree at Ivy Tech Community College. On August 12, 1994, she married Michael G. Leonard in Tacoma, WA. Christy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Hampton Manor for many years.

She was a member of Nesties and Bay Beach Wildlife Sancutary. Christy enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, bird watching, helped rehabilitate injured animals and spending time with her grandkids. She also was a proud breast cancer survivor and advid supporter of the American Cancer Society.

Christy is survived by her mother Jeanette of Eatonville, husband Mike of 24 years, children: Alyssa (Taylor) Sterr (husband Jeff) of Kaukauna, WI; Jonathon M. Leonard of Eau Claire, WI; step sons Brandon Leonard and his fiancée Cassie Gunning of Layton, UT; and Cameron Leonard of Green Bay, WI. Also surviving is her brother Leonard Lopez (wife Lynn) of Easton, WA, Carol (Savlick) De Loza (husband Alfredo) of Juneau, AK. Grandkids include Nathan & Dominyk Leonard, & Zachary Sterr as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Christy was preceded in death by her father John Savlick and step father
Norman Moores.
