Rainier Creative Arts Alliance will hold Eatonville’s second annual Scholarship Music Festival in support of aspiring young artists Saturday, July 13, from 12 noon to 10 p.m. at beautiful Glacier View Park, 209 Fir Ave. N. Eatonville — rain or shine.

Proceeds from this family-friendly music festival will benefit an ongoing creative arts scholarship in memory of John Bratholm and additional scholarship opportunities for EHS graduates in 2020.

After John Bratholm’s passing in February 2018, The John Bratholm Memorial Music Festival was organized by family and friends to benefit a creative arts scholarship in his memory. The festival was held last summer on August 24, 2018 at Glacier View Park in Eatonville.

Sharing a day of music for a larger purpose felt like the perfect way to honor the life of this remarkably funny and talented man who had given so much to his community over the years. John Bratholm was an avid supporter of the creative arts.

A talented comedian, actor and singer in his own right and a lifelong fan of music, John shared his passion and talent with everyone he met. John and his wife Tammi opened Jebino’s restaurant in Eatonville, a popular gathering place for friends and family to enjoy a great meal and a variety of entertainment.

Many of the performers who participated in the John Bratholm Memorial Music Festival came to know John from their time on the Jebino’s stage. John always encouraged young people to follow their dreams, offering support and a place to showcase their talents, leading to careers in the entertainment industry for a lucky few.

He also co-organized, and was the MC of, many fundraisers for community members in need. John and Tammi Bratholm were always there to help others and the Eatonville community repaid that generosity with an outpouring of love and support after his death for which his family will always be incredibly grateful.

Thanks to the generosity of all who supported the music festival, backers were pleased to offer a $1700.00 creative arts scholarship to a student of Eatonville High School.

During planning of last year’s music festival, the organizers grew its footprint into a wonderful coalition of people committed to raising funds for a scholarship in John’s name. While planning this year’s music festival, organizers made the decision to continue those fundraising efforts under the name Rainier Creative Arts Alliance, to better reflect the group’s mission of providing support for arts education. Organizers said the change of name allows them to pursue creative arts support avenues more fully and expands the reach.

The Rainier Creative Arts Alliance Scholarship (RCAAS) Music Festival will be held July 13, 2019 from 12-10 pm at Glacier View Park. Proceeds will benefit a continuing scholarship in memory of John Bratholm and provide additional creative arts opportunities as monies allow.
Tickets are $20 and available at Postnet or online at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4217294.
