he Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is holding a hiring workshop Wednesday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Tacoma at the Sheriff’s Department offices, 930 Tacoma Ave S.
The event will give people an opportunity to get an inside look at what the Sheriff’s Department is all about and provide information on what’s needed for a successful career as a Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy in corrections or patrol. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications for Corrections Deputy (jail) and Deputy Sheriff (patrol). They are seeking highly motivated, conscientious men and women who are looking for a challenging, fulfilling career. Applicants should apply and test online at National Testing Network (Corrections Deputy) or National Testing Network (Patrol Sheriff’s Deputy). Applicants must achieve a passing score of 70 percent or higher on the video, reading and report writing sections of the written exam. Applicant must pass the report writing section and the physical fitness test. The Physical Fitness Test includes: a mile and a half run, push-ups and sit-ups.
