Eatonville School District passes latest state audit

The Washington state auditor found no deficiencies or material weaknesses in the latest audit of Eatonville School District 303’s finances from Sept./ 1 2017 through Aug. 31 2018.

The findings are in an audit report released by State Auditor Pat McCarthy.

“We reported no deficiencies in the design or operation of internal control over financial reporting that we consider to be significant deficiencies,” the report reads. “We identified no deficiencies that we consider to be material weaknesses. We noted no instances of noncompliance that were material to the financial statements of the District.”

The audit also found no deficiencies in the district’s handling of federal awards and programs during the period.

The report found that the school district has corrected issues found in a previous audit from 2016-2017.
“The District will be going out for competitive bid for the services previously identified as being provided by a sole source,” the report said. “The district now reviews all purchases by an accountant and business manager to ensure they meet the grant qualifications."
