Rod Knockers gear up for 24th Annual Car Show this Saturday
The Rod Knockers Car Club presents the 24th annual car show in downtown Eatonville this Saturday, June 22.
More than 200 cars enter each year. The show runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mashell Avenue.
This year, the Rod Knockers will award 58 trophies, according to car club president Sue Babic. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 300 cars.
Along with the trophies, the show features some quality raffle items, a 50/50 drawing and dozens of door prizes, which are drawn for throughout the day. The club will also provide free hotdogs, chips, soda and bottled water.
The club is about 40 people strong and always welcome new member prospects,”Babic said.”Many members bring their cars to the show for display, but no Rod Knocker vehicle is considered for a trophy or drawn for a door prize – those are all for the people who pay the entry fee of $20."
The Rod Knockers Car Club supports the Alliance to Prevent Veteran Suicide, the Soldiers’ Home in Orting, the Eatonville Family Center, Eatonville Dollars for Scholars program, the Eatonville 4th of July Parade and various other worthy causes.
“Many of their members are veterans,”Babic said.”All of us are dedicated to ‘giving back’ to the Town of Eatonville.
