The Washington State Patrol says a Belllevue motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after suffering serious injuries in a collision on Highway 7
Southbound Highway 7 was closed for two hours after the collision, at 2:44 p.m. Friday at Rocky Point Park, one mile south of Elbe..
Troopers said David T Medencorp, 41, was driving a black-colored Yamaha motorcycle northbound on the highway, and a gold 1988 Chevrolet Blazer, was also driving north – and attempted to turn left into the park.
The motorcycle tried to pass the SUV on the left and struck the front driver’s side of the Blazer.
Troopers said the Blazer driver, Elliott M Eck, 33, of Mineral, was not injured. The motorcycle was totaled in the collision, and the Blazer was damaged.
WSP said Medencorp was wearing a helmet and Eck was wearing a seat belt. Drugs or alcohol were NOT believed to be involved. Any chargers are subject to further investigation by state trooper.
Harborview listed Medencorp in satisfactory condition Monday.
