Want a chance to eat a gourmet dinner while supporting the local wildlife? Northwest Trek Wildlife Park supporters will have the opportunity to do just that if they attend the "Trek to the Wildside" dinner and auction in May.
The event includes dinner and an auction, which will raise funds to support conservation efforts and critical veterinary equipment at the park, according to a Northwest Trek news release.
The dinner begins at 5 p.m. on May 4 at the Tacoma Sportsmen's Club, 16409 Canyon Road E. in Puyallup. Admission is $65 per person and includes dinner and two drinks. Tables for eight are available for purchase at $520.
The event will include a silent auction, raffle and live auction. Guest can also make direct donations to a fund that will purchase two pieces of veterinary equipment, a digital radiography system and an ultrasound machine.
"Digital radiography will improve the quality of care for our animals with enhanced X-ray images and processing speeds," Northwest Trek Veterinarian Dr. Allison Case states in the news release. "Ultrasound offers a non-invasive and quick technique for evaluation organ function and diagnosing many medical conditions. The equipment will allow for increased flexibility and accuracy, and help us give even better care to our animals."
The event menu includes chicken cordon bleu, beef short ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, pepper jack macaroni and cheese, rolls and salad. The dinner is catered by Angela's Restaurant, the news release states.
There will also be a dessert dash and beer and wine for purchase.
