Jon Walter Crosetto

Jon Walter Crosetto, 64, a lifelong resident of Eatonville, passed away suddenly from undiagnosed heart disease April 24th, while hiking with his dog, Daisy. Jon is remembered as a loving father, husband and friend. He was a generous person who gave far more than he ever received, regularly helping others by sharing his mechanical, electrical, and handyman skills and knowledge.

He worked 40 years at Puget Sound Energy as a meter journeyman, retiring at the end of 2016. He enjoyed helping the meter apprentices learn all aspects of the job, and worked as a 2nd year level instructor for several years.

He was an avid hiker, climber, and explorer. He made multiple summits of Mt. Rainier, Adams and Hood. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, bicycling, snowshoeing, playing ice hockey, hunting for geocaches, and flying his R/C planes. He was a master at working on, and restoring, all things mechanical. In the early 1990’s, he volunteered with Tacoma Mountain Search and Rescue for approximately 5 years.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Candice (Linnell) Crosetto; son, Christopher (Karen Franco), daughter, Becky (Matthew Persons), and three much loved grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Wagner, many nieces, nephews and cousins. And Daisy.

We are grateful to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Pierce County Search and Rescue, and Tacoma Mountain Search and Rescue for their diligent search to find Jon after his last hike.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, (26418 Mt. Hwy. E, Spanaway, WA) Saturday, May 18th, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to Tacoma Mountain Search and Rescue, Pierce County Search and Rescue, or Bethany Lutheran Church.

Online remembrances at Hill Funeral Home, Puyallup.
