After a tough 4-1 loss to the Steilacoom Sentinels last week, the Lady Cruisers took the #8 seed into the district playoffs and found themselves in a do or die, loser out game this past Saturday.
The #8 seed Cruisers took on the #12 seed North Mason Bulldogs in the opening round of the 2019 West Central District 3 playoffs at Franklin Pierce Stadium.
Both teams played great defense in the first half of the match to keep it scoreless at halftime.
The Cruisers changed that in the second half behind the leg of sophomore Kya Stewart. Stewart would score not one, but two goals for the Cruisers to defeat the Bulldogs 2-0.
With that win, the Cruisers will advance to take on the #1 seed White River Wolverines at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Franklin Pierce Stadium.
This will be the third time the Cruisers have faced the Wolverines this season. In those two meetings, the Wolverines were victorious by scores of 9-0 and 3-2.
The winner of this game will move on to the championship game and face the North Kitsap/Fife winner, while the loser will drop down and face the loser of the Sequim/Orting game in a loser out/winner to state game.
