Lady Cruisers head to district playoffs

The Lady Cruisers started out the week taking on the 1st place Fife Trojans. It was a huge task for the Cruisers as the Trojans have only allowed one goal on them this season in when playing SPSL 2A opponents.

The Cruisers changed that though as they scored twice on the Trojans with goals by

Unfortunately, those 2 goals wouldn’t be enough as Fife would take the win 3-2.

The Cruisers regrouped and took on the Washington Patriots the very next day.

“Regroup” would be an understatement as the Cruiser offense caught fire as they scored seven times in the game to take a 7-1 victory to finish the regular season of play.

After finishing the regular season with a 6-4-3 league record, the Eatonville Cruiser girls’ soccer team finished in third place.

That 3rd place finish earned them the No. 5 seed going into the 2A SPSL League tournament. They were matched up against the No. 5 seed Steilacoom Sentinels, who finished the regular season with a 9-4-0 league record.

The Cruisers wouldn’t be able to stop the Sentinel fire power in this game and would drop the match 4-1. With that loss, they will be the #6 seed into the West Central District 3 playoffs.

One bright spot for the Cruisers was a goal by sophomore Kya Stewart.

The Lady Cruisers look to rebound in the district playoffs on Saturday. They will take on the Olympic leagues No. 3 seed at 2 p.m. at Franklin Pierce High School.
