A cooler is cooler than a wasteful old fridge

Recycle your old, energy-wasting fridge or freezer with the PUD and get a handy, collapsible cooler, ideal for summer picnics, parties and outdoor events.
The 18-can cooler has a zippered front pocket; two front mesh pockets; a cellphone pocket; a shoulder strap and a polyethylene/vinyl lining. Supplies are limited.
Customers need to schedule their pickups by July 31, 2014, to be eligible.
Old fridges or freezers waste about $200 a year in electricity costs. They can use up to three times the energy of newer ones. This program gives customers a free and convenient way to safely recycle these units and save money on their energy bills.
If you purchase your new refrigerator or freezer at Sears, you can schedule a free pick-up of your old unit to occur the same day as delivery. Ask a Sears sales associate for details when you purchase your new unit.
Eligible refrigerators and freezers need to be in working condition and 10 to 32 cubic feet in size. The program is for Snohomish County PUD customers only. You must own the unit(s) being recycled, with a pickup limit of two units per account.
To schedule a pickup and take advantage of the summer cooler promotion, call JACO Environmental at 1-877-577-0510 (M-F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Or schedule your pick-up online at www.jacoinc.net. To help process your request, please have your PUD account number available.
