Dear Sky Valley Family & Friends,
Vote YES on the Levy to save our Valley General Hospital. How many times have we ourselves or someone we know brought their kids to the Emergency for immediate medical attention, imaging and treatment! Recently, my mother in law suffered a heart attack. She was brought to the emergency room at VGH. It was a very stressful evening and I shudder to think how much more stressful it would be to drive down the busy 522 or Hwy 2 to meet a loved one at another hospital. The cost of ambulatory services for that distance would double or triple.
The cost we would pay per year for the Levy would be far less than the cost to travel that distance not to mention the stress it would alleviate knowing we have emergency care in our hometown. I believe our EMT Department has to allot more time for travel and would we need to pay for extra staff at our local Fire Department?
We have friends that work at the VGH. What about their jobs? For my home in the Fryelands, the Levy is only asking me to pay around $30.00 per year. I think most of us pay much more than this at the movies or on coffees per year. I am voting YES on the Levy. Please join me and save our local hospital.
