Adeline was born May 9, 1910 on a wheat farm near Ritzville, Wash. to Andrew and Carolyn Schrag. She died on September 17, 2014, with her family by her side in Monroe, Wash.
Adeline moved with her family to Monroe at age 13. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1929. Adeline and Herb Schwartz were married in 1931. They owned and operated Herb's Grocery in Monroe from 1939 to 1957. In 1966 Adeline graduated from EJC as a licensed practical nurse. She worked at and retired from Monroe Valley General Hospital.
Herb passed away in 1982. In 1996 Adeline and Abe Unruh were married. Abe passed away in 1998.
Adeline is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Pearson, and sons, Dale (Jeanne) Schwartz and Dean Schwartz, all of Monroe; nine grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Janet Osborn; and stepsons, Mel, Don (Beverly) and Ken (Corrine) Unruh.
Adeline was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Grant; granddaughter, Toni Bukowski; son-in-law, Wallace Pearson; and niece, Judy McInturf, who live with the Schwartz's.
Adeline was a member of the Monroe Community Chapel. A memorial service is planned for October 11, 2014, 11 a.m. at Monroe Community Chapel, 14365 Fryelands Blvd., Monroe, WA.
