American Legion honors student essay writers

American Legion Arthur Kincaid Post No. 58 members Russell Dean and Larry "WoodyGÇ¥ Woods presented awards to three students from Park Place Middle School during the school awards ceremony that took place on Tuesday, June 16. The students were awarded for their submissions to the legion's essay contest, which were written based on the theme of "the United States Constitution and What It Means to Me.GÇ¥

Student Xeyneb Al-Azodi won second place in the contest, receiving a $25 check, a certificate and a handcrafted wooden pen.

Students Rachel Lehto and Lilly Young both won first place, each receiving a check for $50, a medallion, certificate and handcrafted wooden pen.
