Betty Lou (Banta) Roesler, born September 1, 1925 to Louis and Ethel Banta, passed away on October 5, 2013 with her children by her side. She joins her parents and siblings, Ted, Chester, Nancy and Rich.
Betty was born and raised in Sultan, graduating as a Sultan Turk in 1943. In her younger years, Betty worked at JC Penney and the Naval Shipyard in Everett, and later for Roesler Timber Co. She loved being a homemaker, taking care of her family, and especially being a grandmother. Betty and Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, trips to Hawaii and snow-birding to Arizona and Southern California.
Betty leaves behind her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 65 years, Dick; three children, Richard Roesler and wife, Carole; Cindy and husband, Rick McDaniel; and Kelli and husband, Don Bersano; five grandchildren, Kevin McDaniel, Hunter Roesler, Tiffany, Ashley and Ryley Bersano; two great-grandchildren, Madison McDaniel and Crosby Roesler; and her extended Banta and Roesler family members.
Services were held on October 11 at Purdy and Kerr with burial at the Sultan Cemetery. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Betty's caregivers, especially Jessica, and the entire staff at Merry Haven Care Facility for their loving care of our wife, mother and grandmother.
The family requests any donations be made to the Sultan Fire Department or Alzheimer's Association.
