Boundary review board tackling 124th Street annexation

After nearly four hours of testimony, the Washington State Boundary Review Board for Snohomish County adjourned its public hearing on Sultan's 124th Street Annexation proposal, agreeing to reconvene this week for deliberation and a decision.

The hearing ran until nearly 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, as opponents and proponents provided their input. The board will reconvene at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.

Kenyon Disend attorney Amy Mill represented the city of Sultan, annexation petitioners by land use attorney Duana Kolou+íkov+í and neighboring property owners opposed to the annexation were represented by attorney Jocelynne Fallgatter.

The petition requests the annexation of approximately 78.71 acres located roughly 1.4 miles up the Sultan Basin Road off 124th. No further testimony will be heard in the matter. Per Washington code, the Boundary Review Board may approve, disapprove or modify the annexation proposal.
