Colleen Marie Eagle
1949-2013
Colleen Eagle peacefully left us the morning of November 21, 2013. She was born August 30, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN to Gordy and Irene Reger; the second of seven children. One visit to Seattle convinced her that regardless of Minnesota roots her spirit belonged in Washington. Colleen relocated in 1978, and met her husband of 31 years, Jerry Eagle. Together they made a home and created memories in Monroe with their three sons. Colleen gave considerable time, energy and leadership skills to many local organizations especially the Monroe School District.
Colleen savored life, and family was central to her being. She loved reunions and hated good-byes. She laughed easily and always searched for a bright side or lesson learned. She valued making memories and held them as treasures. Colleen modeled commitment, sharing, and love for one another. Her wisdom about living simply but fully is the gift she left behind.
Colleen's parents and sister, Barbara Ryan, mother-in-law Patricia, and nephew Billy preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband Jerry; three sons, Sam (Sarah), Joe and John; three grandsons, Gavin, Benjamin and Quintin; five Reger siblings, Rosemarie (Tim) Rumsey, Judy, Gordy (Patti), Tom (Karen), and Maureen; 12 Eagle siblings: Gene (Rosie), Jim, Mary Ellen, Patti Jean (Tony), Cruz, John (Sandi), Joe (Diane), Tom (Ann), Dan (Kim), Mike (Jane), Lou (Amy), Marie (Sean), Riley and Paul; aunts, uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14at St. Mary of the Valley, 601 W. Columbia St., Monroe, WA.; luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Skykomish Valley Indian Education Parents Organization, PO Box 1143, Sultan, WA 98294.
