Turk 220 pound powerhouse senior Taylor Comfort gets a hold on Dylan Beeler of Clarkston, battling for fourth place in the state at the Mat Classic 2014 Washington State Wrestling Championships in the Tacoma Dome on Saturday,Feb. 22.
Receiving a bye in the first round, Comfort won his first bout to advance to this quarter-final round. Comfort was pinned by Beeler to secure fourth in the state. Beeler went on to finish first.
The Conference Champion Turks took seven finalists and five alternates to the Mat Classic. David Woo at 106 moved into the big show when another competitor failed to show for his first State meet.
Other Turks included freshman Jamell Caroll and junior James Mackenzie at 126 pounds; freshman Tanner Belcher at 138; junior Dylan Oster at 152; senior Kenny Losleben at 160 and freshman Morgan Yates at 220.
The Turks scored 29 team points to finish 19th in the 2A State standings.
