A celebration of life was held in Sultan last Thursday to honor Christian Fafnis-Horton.
Fafnis-Horton was fatally wounded by a gunshot Aug. 24 in Orangevale, Calif. when two individuals approached him and opened fire. His friend, 20-year-old Thomas McGrath was also struck by the bullet, sustaining injury.
McGrath and Fafnis-Horton had traveled to California together along with McGrath's girlfriend, Bianca O'Hara. O'Hara and McGrath attempted to save their friend's life, but were unsuccessful. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's office continues to investigate.
