Craig Chambers is taking over as the Monroe and Sky Valley Family YMCA executive director next month.

The soon-to-be former Stanwood-Camano YMCA senior director has a dozen years of YMCA experience, according to a Feb. 15 news release. He’s worked as the teen director in Marysville, and started out in the camp and childcare programs in Seattle.

“We are excited to have Craig join volunteers, members, and the dedicated Monroe/Sky Valley Y staff,” said Martha Dankers, board chair for the Monroe and Sky Valley YMCA. “Craig’s energy and desire to build on community partnerships, as well as make Y programs more accessible for all, makes him a great fit for our community.”

Chambers will be replacing longtime executive director Patsy Cudaback, who is also the vice president of operations for the YMCA of Snohomish County. She will be taking on a new role there, according to the release.

“Craig brings top professional skills to our organization, and will undoubtedly continue the great work of the Monroe YMCA board of directors, and outgoing executive Patsy Cudaback,” said Snohomish County YMCA president and CEO Scott Washburn in the news release. “His YMCA knowledge and commitment to the Y mission are an asset to the organization.”

Chambers will manage daily operations, such as supervising staff and fiscal management, as well as financial and board development. He starts March 1.
