Essay writers win bikes

On Wednesday, Nov. 7, two local children were awarded brand new bicycles, courtesy of the Sultan Monroe Masonic Lodge'sBikes for Books contest.
This year's essay contest was "My Favorite Book and What it Means to Me.GÇ¥ Fourth grader Taylor Bucey and 5th grader Carson Wittenberg each won a bicycle, along with helmets provided by the Sultan Fire Department and bike locks courtesy of the Friends of the Sultan Library.
Families then enjoyed a program performed by Last Leaf Theater group of Monroe, as well as refreshments provided and served by the Masons.

The Sultan/Monroe Masonic Lodge has generously been sponsoring the Bikes for Books contest for young library patrons for the past four years.
